Notes:

Like all first days, I felt great. I was not trying to set any land speed records, but going with an easy, comfortable pace. It was an unseasonable warm day and beautiful. Couldn’t ask for a better day to start a running challenge.

What I liked most about the run was having something entertaining to listen to. Years ago, I just ran with nothing but my thoughts. I eventually evolved to listening to music. But music is so “hit and miss”, and gets old after a while. Today, I listened to a podcast… game changer!

While the podcast I listened to was interesting and kept my attention, the key was the podcast kept me engaged for the duration of the run. Keeping your mind occupied is a major factor as you increase your mileage!

During the run, I felt warm but good. After the run, I noticed that my body felt warmer than usual until I went to bed.

Post-run dinner was rice and chicken (cooked in cream of chicken sauce). I also had some Ben & Jerry’s to cap it off (half a pint).
