I love a checklist and use one with everything I do.

In the workplace, a checklist guides me through my daily routine and dramatically increases my productivity. It ensures everything is accounted for, down to the smallest detail.

I typically pre-populate my checklist with tasks I need to do each day and leave several blank spaces for additional entries as they arise.

A checklist gives me a sense of comfort and helps me manage my stress levels, by knowing I have completed each task I have deemed to be important has been addressed.

I print a stack of worksheets and keep them on a clipboard on my desk. At the end of each day, any tasks not completed are transferred to tomorrow’s checklist.

At home, a checklist is just as important to me. During the week, there are always tasks or to-do items around the house that pop up. They need to be addressed but I just need the time. However, when the weekend finally rolls around, I often became overwhelmed or got “analysis paralysis”. Does this ever happen to you?

I can’t make plans on Saturday morning for work I want to complete on the same day. By that time, my mind is just too hectic.

I can, however, fill out my checklist on Friday evening, or the day prior to my day off, to include everything I wish to accomplish the following day. And it works every time!
