70F degree workout on the last day of November? I was one hot runner!
Forget hot yoga – [Day 23]- Today was awesome! It’s an amazing day and I’m totally motivated! I’m going to make the most of this workout!
November 30, 2020.
My pre-run meal – Enjoyed a Royal Farms Mild Atomic Chicken sandwich, a small order of potato wedges, and a 16 ounce Diet Mountain Dew, 3 hours prior to my run.
Running Gear Checklist
It is partly cloudy this afternoon, the temperature outside was a warm (70F), with winds gusting (17 mph), and a tornado warning in effect, at run time.
My pre-run checklist:
- Nutrition – I had a good base with my earlier meal, and no pre-run snacks.
- Warm-up stretches include some squats, high kicks (front and back), lunges, and pulling knees to chest
- Power check for my phone and AirPods
- I felt naked without my long sleeve tech shirt, but enjoyed the short sleeve weather
- Put on my reflective vest
- Grabbed my handheld phone carrier

On the Run – Before and After
The outside temp was great today. I really enjoy running in warm climates. Being a hot runner doesn’t bother me at all. However, I did feel a bit tight today if I’m being 100% honest.
Maybe the stress from jumping out of the car from work and hitting the pavement, with minimal break, had something to do with it.
My mile splits were better than I anticipated. Not the best ever or anything like that, but better than I expected.
Timing my runs is such a distraction. I hate timing my workouts, BUT, in the end I really want to know, too. You know what I mean?
The running shoes, yes, I still need them. I will finish out this challenge with the running shoes that I have, but will definitely source some new gear before the next running challenge.
Streaking to the end
I knew today was going to be a potential washout with the weather forecast showing high winds and rain this afternoon. Likely I was able to still get my run in before the skies darkened.
The forecast for the remainder of the week looks pretty good. I believe there is the potential for rain on Friday, but nothing severe.
Post-run snack – Corona Light, 1, 2, ok ,probably more like 3 beers.
